December PAC Meeting

Please join us for the next PAC meeting on Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 in the library.

The meetings are casual, there is no fundraising and it is a great place to find out right from the Principal and Vice-Principals what is happening at Dover.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Next PAC Meeting – October 26th at 6:00 pm

DOVER BAY PAC MEETING – Wednesday, October 26th at 6:00 pm (in the school Library)
Please note that this PAC meeting has been re-scheduled one week earlier than originally planned.
This school year marks the beginning of significant changes for school districts in BC. Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools will be implementing a new K-9 curriculum, as well as changes to student reporting. To provide additional information relating to these changes, the Nanaimo Ladysmith Public School Board has organized a public forum scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st  from 7:00 to 8:30 at Beban Park Social Centre.
To enable our principal (Robyn Gray) to share information with Dover parents and address questions related to the new curriculum and new reporting processes, prior to the forum, the next PAC meeting has been moved to this coming Wednesday, October 26th at 6:00 pm.
We look forward to seeing you there!

March 3rd PAC Meeting

This meeting’s special guest speaker is Brigitte Lebar, a Child and Youth Clinician from MCFD (Ministry of Children and Family Development). She will be making a presentation to the PAC about anxiety and depression. Hope to see you there!

Gr. 8 Survey

Hello Gr. 8 Parents and Students,

We, the PAC, are conducting a survey of the Gr. 8 parents and students.  Our goal is to find out what areas of learning have been effective this year and what may need to be revisited to achieve the objectives set out by, not only the Teachers and Administration at Dover Bay, but the BC government.  We are in the middle of a changing outlook on education and by examining the Grade 8 year to date, we will be able to work towards developing a strong framework with which to move forward.  As our school changes, feedback is an important part of the process.  We have drawn up nine questions that we would like you to consider.  Room has been left at the end for your additional thoughts.

This form is completely anonymous and the survey outcomes will be compiled by the PAC.
Please find the survey here:

First PAC meeting of the year!

Hello everyone,

We will be having our first meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7:00pm in room C104A.  Please note that the day has changed from Thursdays to Wednesday.  The meetings are on the first Wednesdays of each month.  Hope to see you there.

Grad 2014

Hello Everyone!

We are looking for non-graduating parents to help out with the Ceremonies this year if the strike is still on.  As the Ceremonies happen on the 1st day of the Lock-out, the teachers will not be able to help as they normally would.  That means that in order for the Graduating Class of 2014 to have the best Grad Ceremonies that they can, we need the parents of Dover Bay to help out in anyway they can.  Please contact me at: doverbaypac@gmail.com.  The Ceremonies will be at the Port Theater on June 25th at 3:00.  Please, if you can help, contact me so we can make this work.

Thanks!
